While looking through the Dei Fratelli website I found some very interesting facts about Tomatoes. You can view the Dei Fratelli Healthier Living site to view all of the information which is extremely interesting! I knew of the health benefits for tomatoes but I didn't know some of the following:

Fried "PINK" Tomatoes
There are more than 2.5 million Americans who have or had breast cancer. We like to think the super healthy tomato benefits had a part in helping many of you beat this all too common disease. Did you know?:
•A tomato’s red coloring is called lycopene – an antioxidant that guards cell health and helps to prevent many cancers, like breast cancer, as well as heart disease.
•Canned and processed tomatoes have higher levels of lycopene than the garden variety because they, like all Dei Fratelli products, are captured at the peak of nutritional value.
•Cancer-fighting lycopene is more potent and readily absorbed when coming from cooked tomato products such as pasta sauce or tomato juice.

We were sent a few products to sample from the wonderful people over at Dei Fratelli! I want to say that the sauces are very flavorful with each having it's own unique taste! Our family truly enjoyed each sauce & I even bought some more to try out for ourselves!

Traditional Pasta Sauce

This is where it all started. Our original family recipe captures the true tomato flavor of freshly crushed vine-ripened tomatoes carefully blended with spices and a dash of Romano cheese.

I don't eat spaghetti but the rest of my family loves it. This is the first sauce we tried & they all really enjoyed the sauce. This is a thicker sauce that has a great taste but is not too overwhelming for the kids so it's perfect for the family. I love to dip my bread into the sauce.

Homestyle Pasta Sauce

A full-bodied sauce created from vine-ripened crushed and diced tomatoes blended with onions, peppers, oregano, basil, garlic and Romano cheese. A memorable taste experience your family will surely enjoy.

Pizza Sauce

You will "Amore" this thick, rich, fresh flavored sauce. Your pizza will thank you…and so will your family.

Sauerkraut 32 oz. Glass

It's not just for New Year's anymore. Liven up any cookout with a great topping for hot dogs and bratwurst your guests will love.


I love their sauerkraut & had to try it when I saw it on their website. This kraut is just the right amount of sour! I'm so shocked at the different areas in the country who don't eat sauerkraut or who have never even heard of it before. From what I am told sauerkraut is not too big on the west coast. My one aunt who is originally from Arizona has never even tried it before.


Tim who grew up on the west coast never ate it before he came to the eastern side of the country. He can't stand the smell or taste of it. So I guess it's one of those foods you have to be brought up on. I know so many different people who love kraut on  their hot dogs.


Personally I love kraut with pork which makes for the perfect dinner. The kraut gives the pork just the right amount of flavor. Plus, the pork falls right apart as it cooks. Then add some mashed potatoes with Pierogies. Then Pierogies also taste awesome with the kraut.

Marinara Pasta Sauce

The refreshingly, robust taste of crushed and diced vine-ripened tomatoes mingle with flavorful onions, garlic and Italian seasonings to produce a wonderful taste sensation not soon forgotten. A fantastic start to any Italian dish.

Tomato and Basil Pasta Sauce

Perhaps the most versatile of all our sauces. The delicately clean flavor created by combining vine-ripened crushed and diced tomatoes with fresh chopped basil leaves offer culinary options too many to list.
